Ludwig Hartmann (lawyer)

Ludwig George Hartmann (born August 25, 1811 in Nordhausen ; † January 6, 1882 in Hamm ) was President of the Hamm Higher Regional Court .

Life

Ludwig Hartmann comes from a family of lawyers from Duderstadt with 17 children. His father Ludwig Karl Hartmann was a legal advisor in Duderstadt and an honorary citizen of Duderstadt and Glogau . On May 12, 1839, he married Marie Wilhelmine Auguste Sack, granddaughter of Carl August Sack. They had 7 children. The second son was Max Hartmann . One brother was the Reich judge Wilhelm Hartmann . Ludwig Hartmann, who was President of the Court of Appeal in Hamm from July 1, 1868 , strongly advocated the reorganization of the May Prussian judiciary after 1871 for Hamm to become the seat of the Higher Regional Court for the province of Westphalia . He served as its first president from 1879 to 1882. His successor in office was Adalbert Falk .

Awards

In 1881 the city of Hamm granted him honorary citizenship . The Dr.-Ludwig-Hartmann-Weg in Hamm was named after him.
