Ludwig Heim (architect)
Ludwig Heim (born January 8, 1844 in Salzungen , † November 13, 1917 in Berlin ) was a German architect .
Life
Ludwig Heim studied at the Berlin Building Academy and in the studios of Richard Lucae and Friedrich Hitzig . First active as a government architect ( assessor ) in the civil service, he settled in Berlin in 1877 as a private architect. He was later awarded the honorary title of " Secret Building Councilor ".
Heim was one of the main representatives of late historicism in Berlin. He preferred the forms of the Italian and French Neo-Renaissance . His main works include hotels and bank buildings, with which he shaped the Berlin banking district .
