Ludwig Kayser Edler von Gáad (born December 13, 1862 in Busiasch , Austrian Empire , today Romania ; † June 5, 1945 in Timişoara , Kingdom of Romania ) was Roman Catholic provost of the Timişoara diocese from 1937 to 1945 , as well as chaplain of Grand Saint Nicholas and Canon .

Life

Ludwig Kayser Edler von Gáad was born as the son of Alexander von Kayser († 1877) and his wife Laura, b. Hollóssy was born. From 1871 to 1879 he attended the Piarist High School in Timisoara , where he also studied theology from 1879 to 1883 . From 1883 to 1885 he was diocesan actuary and catechist in Timisoara. On July 2, 1885, Gáad was ordained a priest in the Timisoara Cathedral.

From 1885 to 1890 he worked as a chaplain in Großsanktnikolaus and Makó . In Kis-Zombor he was pastor and Dechanat secretary from 1890 to 1893. From 1893 to 1904 he was a pastor in Turkish Betsche . In 1900 he was papal chamberlain . He was pastor from 1904 to 1908 in Makó and from 1908 to 1917 in Hodoni . In 1908 von Gáad was appointed titular provost de Odon . From 1911 to 1917 he was the dean of the central dean's office. In 1917 he was also prosynodial auditor and administrator of the diocesan fund. From 1917 to 1945 he was a canon of the tschan vein , with the founding of the Diocese of Timişoara , since 1930 the Timisoara Diocese. In 1925 he was a papal prelate and a member of the examination committee for religious teachers in high schools. In 1934 he was Vice-President of the Prosynodial Examiner. In 1937 he was chairman of the diocese tribunal. In 1937 he was elected provost of the cathedral. He held this office until 1945. In the meantime, he was Papal Protonotary in 1941.

Ludwig Kayser von Gáad was buried on June 7th by Bishop Augustin Pacha in the Timișoara cathedral crypt.
