Tiszatardos is a Hungarian community in the county Tokaj in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén .
Geographical location
Tiszatardos is located in northern Hungary , 54 kilometers east of the Miskolc county seat , on the right bank of the Tisza .
history
Tiszatardos was first mentioned as Tardos in 1395. A first church was built in 1736, a rectory in 1744. In 1749 the Roman Catholic parish of Tiszatardos was founded. In 1777 the rectory burned down and was rebuilt a year later. In 1813, today's Szentháromság Church was completed. In 1936 it was renovated and enlarged.

In 2011 the village had 226 inhabitants. 96% of the population are Hungarians and 4% describe themselves as Roma .

Tiszatardos can be reached on the road no. 3621, which leads from Szerencs via Prügy and Csobaj to Tiszatardos and on to Tiszaladány and Tokaj . A bus line connects Tiszatardos with Szerencs and Tokaj on this road, ensuring the village is connected to public transport. The side road No. 36309 leads over the Tisza to Tiszalök . However, this connection is only possible during the day, as the Tisza has to be crossed by a ferry , which runs from 6 a.m. until sunset. The nearest train station is in Tiszalök.
