Csobaj is a Hungarian community in the county Tokaj in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén .
Geographical location
Csobaj is located in northern Hungary , 50 kilometers east of the Miskolc county seat , two kilometers from the banks of the Tisza . Neighboring communities are Taktabáj and Tiszatardos about three kilometers away. The nearest town, Tiszalök , is four kilometers southeast of Csobaj.
La Tène Age children's grave
The site is on a sand hill bordered by an arm of the Takta river. The grave find from 1981 is dated to the middle of the 1st century BC. BC, i.e. late Middle Latène , dated. The cremation grave of a child was uncovered during the rescue excavation and a careful subsequent excavation . No other burials could be found.
Six urns, seven bowls, a pot, a kantharos (drinking vessel), three fibulas , a bronze bracelet and an iron knife were found as grave goods . The vessels are dark brown and disc-turned . The urn necks, the pot handle and belly are decorated with circles and ribs, the kantharos is decorated with a ram's head.
