Taktabáj (formerly BAJ ) is a municipality in the county Tokaj in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén .

Geographical location

Taktabáj is located in northern Hungary , 47 kilometers east of the Miskolc county seat . Neighboring communities are Prügy and Csobaj . The nearest town, Tokaj , is 10 kilometers northeast of Taktabáj.

history

The place was mentioned in writing in 1446 under the name Báj . Until 1948 it belonged to Szabolcs County , then to Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County and got its current name in 1953. In 1970 Taktabáj formed an administrative unit with the neighboring Csobaj, but has been an independent municipality again since 1991.
