Tokaj small area

The small area Tokaj [ ˈtokɒj ] ( Hungarian Tokaji kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform of 2013, all localities were transferred to Tokaj County ( Tokaji járás in Hungarian ). Besides the Sárospatak small area, the Tokaj small area was the only one in the county whose borders remained unchanged.

At the end of 2012 the small area counted 13,383 inhabitants on an area of ​​255.81 km². The administrative seat was in the only city Tokaj (4.524 Ew.).
