Ludwig Lebrecht Koppin (born November 24, 1766 in Küstrin , † July 15, 1846 in Berlin ) was dike captain in the Oderbruch (1830).

Life

His father was the fortification mason Johann Friedrich August Koppin, his mother Anna Sophia, née Rogge.

On August 23, 1787 Koppin became a conductor at the Neumärkischen War and Domain Chamber , 1789 dike inspector in Elbing . In 1796 he was chief mill construction inspector in Bromberg and was allowed to accompany the architect Friedrich Gilly and the painter Georg Christian Gropius on a study trip to Paris. On the way, the trio also visited Goethe in Weimar. After the wars of liberation , as a building commissioner, he was head of the surveying business at the border regulation with Saxony, hydraulic engineering inspector in Cleve and building assessor for the government in Erfurt .

In 1819 Koppin was appointed chief dike inspector and deputy to the dike captain in Wriezen . On May 22nd, 1830 he was appointed dike captain.

Ludwig Lebrecht Koppin is the author of the “Map of the Oder Valley and its surroundings from Frankfurt to Schwedt”, the so-called “Koppin's Map”, created in 1828/29.

His daughter Natalie (1807-1885) was married to the Prussian Lieutenant General Ernst von Manstein .
