Ludwig Linkmann

Ludwig Linkmann (born June 16, 1902 in Gießen ; † June 12, 1963 there ) was a German actor .

Life

Linkmann took up an engagement at the Stadttheater Gießen in 1927 , where he stayed until 1931. From 1931 to 1933 he worked at the Reussian Theater Gera and from 1933 to 1938 at the Hessian State Theater Darmstadt . From 1938 to 1944 he worked at the Volksbühne Berlin .

From 1947 to 1953 he was a member of the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus ensemble . His roles here included the bandit sub-captain in Die Banditen (1948), the baker in Pagnol's The Baker 's Wife (1951), Fool in As You Like It (1951), Fischer in Undine (1952) and Habakuk in Der Alpenkönig and the misanthropist (1952).

In 1953 he moved to the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg , where he was seen as the village judge Adam in Der zerbrochne Krug , the title character in Molière's George Dandin , Babberley in Charley's Aunt , Isolani in Wallenstein's Death and Orgon in Tartuffe . Since 1939 he worked as a supporting actor in various films.
