Ludwig Schlemmer

Ludwig Schlemmer (born December 17, 1895 in Welschneudorf ; † May 19, 1967 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

After attending primary school, Schlemmer learned the mason trade and then worked in agriculture. After participating in World War I , he worked in ore mining and building construction from 1917 to 1927. From 1927 to 1934 he was commercial director responsible for the dairy industry in the state-owned Welschneudorf domain. In 1919 he joined the trade union, after the " Gleichschaltung " of the trade unions in 1934 he was a member of the German Labor Front . From 1934 until his dismissal as an invalid in 1945, he worked as a miner in Westphalia and in his home on the Lahn.

Schlemmer joined the CDU in 1946. In the same year he became mayor of the community of Welschneudorf and a member of the district council of the Unterwesterwaldkreis . On October 12, 1957, he moved into the Rhineland-Palatinate Landtag as a replacement for the resigned MP Alois Zimmer , after he had previously been elected to the German Bundestag . In the state elections in 1959 , he was elected to the state parliament via the CDU state list, to which he was a member until 1963. In the third electoral term he was a member of the Cultural Policy Committee and in the fourth electoral term (1959–1963) a member of the Committee on Social Policy and Issues of Displaced Persons.
