Ludwig Vollmar (born January 7, 1842 in Säckingen , † March 1, 1884 in Munich ) was a genre painter .
Life
He learned the basics of the trade from his father Joseph Vollmar, a son of Johann Friedrich Vollmar . In 1858 he came to the Munich Academy . Here he studied with Johann Georg Hiltensperger and Hermann Anschütz and attended the so-called Componir School with Philipp Foltz in 1862 . Among other things, the work "Samaritan woman at the fountain" and an altarpiece for the parish church in Frick in Aargau were created. He then attended the Karlsruhe Art Academy for a semester , but went back to Munich, where he was accepted by Arthur von Ramberg from 1866 to 1870. He died on March 1, 1884 of a lung disease. He had no students.
