Ludwig Franz Justinian Maximilian Anton Carl Freiherr von Günderrode (born March 18, 1763 in Saarbrücken , † September 3, 1841 in Frankfurt am Main ) was an officer, Nassau court marshal and Frankfurt politician.

Ludwig von Günderrode was the son of the Nassau-Saarbrückischen Privy Council and Chamber President in Saarbrücken Hieronymus Maximilian von Günderrode (1730–1777) and Susanna Maria Elisabeth von Günderrode (1738–1776). His first marriage was in Neusaar Werden on January 3, 1790 Eleanore Magdalena Sara von Almasy (Almassy) (* May 21, 1763, † July 17, 1792 in Frankfurt am Main), the daughter of the Royal French Lieutenant Michael d'Almasy. The marriage resulted in two daughters: Caroline von Günderrode (1790-1852) became a canoness in 1816, dean in 1825 and provost of the Cronstettenstift in 1849 . Luise von Günderrode (1792–1862) was also canon of the Cronstettenstift in 1819.

In his second marriage, Ludwig von Günderrode married on March 20, 1801 in Frankfurt am Main Margarethe Helene von Stalburg (born August 25, 1768 in Frankfurt am Main; † November 28, 1823 there), the daughter of Johann Friedrich Maximilian von Stalburg (1736– 1802), Mayor of Frankfurt am Main, and Margaretha Helena von Glauburg (1744–1769). From this marriage the daughter Sophie (1802–1879) and the son Carl Wilhelm Maximilian von Günderrode (1805–1825) emerged.

Ludwig von Günderrode embarked on a military career, fought in French and Nassau services and rose to the position of lieutenant colonel in Nassau-Saarbrück . In 1792 he was court marshal in Nassau-Saarbrücken . In 1793 he emigrated to Meiningen and Ansbach with Prince Ludwig von Nassau-Saarbrücken, and in 1797 he moved to Frankfurt.

In the Free City of Frankfurt Günderrode was a member of the legislative body from 1817, 1819 to 1820, 1822 and 1825 . From 1817 to 1841 he was a member of the Permanent Citizens' Representation , which he headed from 1825 to 1840 as senior and director. From 1819 to 1825 he was also a member of the Stadtrechnungsrevisionskolleg.

Ludwig von Günderrode died in Frankfurt in 1841 and is buried in the Frankfurt main cemetery. His grave is a listed building .
