Ludwigshafen-northern city center

The northern city center is one of the ten districts of the city of Ludwigshafen am Rhein , consisting of the districts of North, Hemshof and West . It borders in the north on Friesenheim , in the east on BASF and the Rhine , in the west on Mundenheim and in the south on the district Südliche Innenstadt .

From here on January 1, 1984 the cable pilot project Ludwigshafen started the age of private television .

Local advisory board

Political body for the local district is the town council Northern city and the mayor . The local council has 15 members. He can be heard on all important questions relating to the local district.

Mayor

Antonio Priolo ( SPD ) has been the mayor of the northern city center since 2009 . He is the first mayor of Ludwigshafen with a migration background. His last confirmation in office to date was a runoff election on June 16, 2019, in which he prevailed with 53.78% of the vote. This election became necessary after none of the original six applicants had achieved the necessary majority in the local elections on May 26, 2019 .
