Ludwig Plater (born August 14, 1775 in Krasław , Livonia , † October 6, 1846 in Posen ) was a Polish patriot .

Graf Plater came from the German Baltic aristocratic family of the Counts von dem Broel called Plater . In 1794 he took part in the Kościuszko uprising as a volunteer and became an adjutant to General Karol Sierakowski . In 1815 he joined the Polish State Council, where he headed domain and forestry. Since he had tried to work for his nation with Karol Kniaziewicz in Paris during the November uprising of 1830 , his property was confiscated after the rebellion was suppressed. He therefore initially stayed in Paris, where he became Vice President of the Literary Society (pl. Towarzystwo Literackie w Paryżu ) and moved to Posen in 1840, where he died in 1846.

Count Plater was a bearer of the Order of St. Stanislaus, 1st class.
