Lugowoi ( Russian Луговой ) is a municipality in the south of the Republic of Kazakhstan .
Geographical location
Lugovoi has 10,242 inhabitants. It is located in Ryskulov district in the Shambyl region , on the northern flank of the Kyrgyz Mountains .

The station ("Луговая" / Lugowaya) of the municipality is located on the Turkestan-Siberian Railway (Turksib). This is where the 360 km long Lugovoi – Balyktschy railway branches off , which was opened in 1924 and is operated by the Kyrgyz State Railways across the border .
