Luguelín Miguel Santos Aquino (born November 12, 1992 in Bayaguana, Monte Plata ) is a Dominican athlete who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Santos achieved numerous successes in the youth and junior sector in 2010. Among other things, he was sixth over 400 m at the World Junior Athletics Championships in Moncton and won the Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore . He won his first adult medals at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, where he finished second in both the 400-meter run and the 4-by-400-meter relay .

Santos could not qualify for the finals at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in 2012 in Istanbul. The outdoor season was much more successful for him. At the FBK Games in Hengelo in May of the same year, Santos increased his best performance and the Dominican record in the 400-meter run to 44.45 seconds. In the meantime, he moved up to second place in the world's best list of the year behind the American LaShawn Merritt . At the Junior World Championships in Athletics in Barcelona , Santos won the gold medal.

Santos celebrated his most significant success to date by winning the silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
