Luis Ángel Maté Mardones (born March 23, 1984 in Madrid ) is a Spanish cyclist .

Athletic career

Luis Ángel Maté won a stage at the Circuito Montañés in 2005 and was able to repeat this success in the 2007 season. In 2007 he was also successful on part of the Vuelta a Tenerife .

He began his international career in 2008, initially with the Spanish Professional Continental Team Andalucía-Cajasur . In 2010 he won a stage of the Tour de San Luis and in 2011 the Route du Sud . Up to and including 2017, he made 13 major country tours . His best placement to date was 19th place at the Vuelta a España 2014 . Since 2011, Maté has been under contract with the French team Cofidis, Solutions Crédits .
