Luisa Taraz (* 1978 in Hamburg ) is a German actress and theater director .

Life

Luisa Taraz studied acting at the Zurich University of the Arts. From 2005 to 2007 she was a member of the ensemble at Theater Kiel . Engagements in Braunschweig, Leipzig, Berlin and Munich followed. Since 2007 she has been a freelance actress and played a. a. at Kampnagel ( Rio Bar , 2011), at the Thalia Theater ( In My Secret Life , 2012) or at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus ( Signs & Wunder , 2014). She guested u. a. in New York, Kampala, Zurich and Copenhagen. In 2015 she played at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus under the direction of SIGNA , which was followed by other productions such as Wirhund / Us Dogs in cooperation with the Wiener Festwochen in 2016 . In 2017 she played Das Heuvolk at the International Schiller Days in Mannheim and at the Ernst-Deutsch-Theater the role of Julia in 1984 by George Orwell under the direction of Elias Perrig . In 2017/2018 she played at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg in Halbe Leid under the direction of SIGNA.

As a director in 2013 celebrated in Taraz Depths of the Thalia Theater with No Exit by Jean-Paul Sartre their debut. In 2014 she staged For the Night of Laura de Weck for the Kaltstart Theater Festival in Hamburg and again in the night asylum of the Thalia Theater Die Bakchen nach Euripides . In 2015, her production An Anarchist Banker based on the story by Fernando Pessoa was invited by the Theaterstaat Festival in Berlin. In the same year she directed the refugee drama When my father became a bush by Joke van Leeuwen . Also in 2015 she brought the premiere home of Christiane Kalss and Manuel Weber as part of the Reeperbahn Festival on stage. In 2016 her production Politics and Making Love was invited to the Theaterstaat Festival. In autumn 2016 she directed Lenz based on Georg Büchner at the Kraine Theater in New York .

Taraz lives in Berlin and Hamburg.
