Laura de Weck (* 31 May 1981 in Zurich ) is a Swiss actress , playwright and director .

Life

The daughter of the publicist Roger de Weck grew up in Paris, Hamburg and Zurich. Since completing her acting studies at the Zurich University of Music and Theater in 2005, she has been a freelance writer and as an actress she was a member of the ensemble of the Junge Schauspielhaus Hamburg from 2007 to 2010 . Her first play, Favorite Man , had double premieres on March 29, 2007 at the Theater Basel and at the Nationaltheater Mannheim . This was followed by the pieces SumSum (premiered in 2008 by Barbara Brüesch at Theater Chur ), For the Night (premiered in 2011 by Werner Düggelin at Theater Basel) and Archiv des Incomplete (premiered in 2013 by Thom Luz at the Ruhr Festival ). Laura de Weck's pieces have been translated into several languages. The author stages her own performances such as Espace Schengen in the Zurich Theaterhaus Gessnerallee , Kaserne Basel and Kampnagel Hamburg. Since October 2011 she has also been writing scenic columns for the Tages-Anzeiger and Der Bund , which were published in book form by Diogenes Verlag in 2016 . In 2017/18 Laura de Weck was a scholarship holder of the Munich script workshop . Since 2019 she is u. a. with Milo Rau and Elke Heidenreich on the permanent critics team of the SRF television program Literaturclub .
