Luise Koppen

Luise Koppen (born June 11, 1855 in Berleburg , † 1922 in Berlin ) was a German writer .

Life

Luise Koppen was the daughter of a Protestant pastor . Her family lived in Detmold from 1857 , where Luise Koppen attended the secondary school for girls. In 1874 she passed the teacher examination in Elberfeld ; afterwards she taught at the secondary school for daughters in Detmold and had contact with Princess Elisabeth zur Lippe , the widow of Prince Leopold III , who died in 1875 . to the lip . From the mid-1890s Koppen was also active as a writer. During a visit to Berlin, she made friends with the writer Frida Schanz . In 1910 Luise Koppen gave up the teaching profession and moved to Berlin, where she lived as a freelance writer. In addition, she was part of the editorial team of the family magazine “ Daheim ” and from 1911 to 1917 was the editor of the household- oriented weekly magazine “Die deutsche Frau”.

Luise Koppen was the author of stories in which she often processed her experiences in her parents' rectory and in the residential town of Detmold, as well as books for children and young people that were very successful at the time .
