Karoline Albertine Eleonore Luise (Louise) von Haugwitz , née von Rohr (born June 5, 1782 in Daber , † February 16, 1855 in Groß Tworsimirke bei Militsch ) was a German writer . She also published under the pseudonym Arminia .

Life

She came from the von Rohr family and was the daughter of Captain Otto Friedrich von Rohr in Daber near Stettin . The Damen Conversations Lexikon reports that she received an imperfect upbringing in her rural home, but “her eager thirst for learning was only stimulated by the conviction that she was left to her own devices, and therefore that what she learned was entirely due to herself and increased ". She made friends with Friederike Adelung, who was of the same age , and they both worked together on the novel Nanny and Adelinde, or the Power of Sympathy (published 1808).

In 1804 she married Karl von Haugwitz , Forstrat zu Tworsimirke bei Militsch ( Lower Silesia ), who also worked as a writer. The couple lived in Silesia. The impressions that the Giant Mountains made on them here were reflected in their works. She wrote several works of fiction, some of which she published under the pseudonym Arminia .
