Lukáš Brýdl (born June 16, 1986 ) is a former Czech grass skier . He was a member of the Czech national grass ski team's B squad, was among the top ten in two World Cup races and won two medals at junior world championships .

Career

At the Junior World Championships Brýdl drove into the top 10 for the first time in 2003 in Goldingen with eighth place in the Super-G. At the World Championships in Castione della Presolana , he usually only achieved placements in the bottom field in the same year. He was twelfth in combination, 18th in slalom and 23rd in giant slalom and in super-G. He achieved two fifth places in slalom and combined as well as 14th place in Super-G at the 2004 Junior World Championships in Rettenbach . At the beginning of the 2005 season Brýdl achieved several top 10 results in FIS races and on July 16, he finished 13th in the giant slalom in Forni di Sopra for the first time in a World Cup race among the 20 fastest. In the overall World Cup, he finished 22nd. At the Junior World Championships 2005 in Nové Město na Moravě Brýdl won the bronze medal in the Super-G. In the combination he was fourth and sixth in slalom and giant slalom. At the 2005 World Championships in Dizin , he finished 18th in the giant slalom and 19th in the Super-G.

In June 2006 Brýdl celebrated his first podium in an FIS race with third place in the Super-G of Traisen . The 2006 World Cup season was his most successful. In six of the seven World Cup races he was among the fastest 15 and achieved eighth place in the slalom of Sattel as the best result . In the overall ranking he reached 15th place. At the Junior World Championships 2006 in Horní Lhota u Ostravy , the Czech won the silver medal in the giant slalom and was eleventh in the Super-G. In the 2007 season, Brýdl was among the fastest 20 in six World Cup races. His best result was eighth in the second slalom by Sattel. In the overall ranking he came in 19th place. At the 2007 World Cup in Olešnice v Orlických horách , Brýdl was mostly able to classify himself in the midfield. He was 26th in the super combined, 27th in the super G and 30th in the giant slalom. Only in the slalom he was eliminated in the first round. In 2008 and 2009 Brýdl only competed in very few races. In the 2008 season he was in the World Cup only at the races in Čenkovice . He finished eleventh in the slalom and the giant slalom, but fell back to 54th place in the overall ranking. Also in the 2009 season Brýdl only took part in the World Cup races in Čenkovice. This time he reached the eleventh and seventeenth places in the two slaloms and thus 64th place in the overall World Cup. After 2009, Brýdl did not take part in any competitions.
