Lukas Gabriel (born December 26, 1991 ) is an Austrian football player on the position of a defender .

Career

Gabriel started his career at WSV ATSV Ranshofen in Upper Austria . In 2007 he signed a contract with SV Ried , where he was initially active in the AKA Upper Austria West, the youth department of Rieder.

In 2009 he joined the first team under Paul Gludovatz . Lukas Gabriel made his debut in the Bundesliga on April 17, 2009 in the Upper Austria derby against LASK . The young defender came on for Peter Hackmair in the 90th minute and was even able to do the preparatory work to make it 3-0 for Rieder. Gabriel was fouled in the penalty area by Linz goalkeeper Michael Zaglmair , so that Herwig Drechsel cleared the final score with a penalty. In summer 2011 he switched to FC Wels on loan .

After a season in Wels, he signed a contract with FC Pasching . With Pasching he was Austrian cup winner in the 2012/13 season. After winning the cup, he moved to Union St. Florian . After only six months he returned to Pasching.

In summer 2014 he moved to FC Blau-Weiß Linz . With the Linzers he was able to advance to professional football in 2016. For the 2018/19 season he moved to SK Vorwärts Steyr . After a year at Steyr, he moved to the regional league team WSC Hertha Wels for the 2019/20 season .
