Lukas Radbruch
Lukas Radbruch (born January 3, 1959 in Bevensen , Uelzen district ) is a German doctor, anesthesiologist , palliative medicine specialist and university professor. He is President of the German Society for Palliative Medicine .
Life
Professional and academic career
After studying medicine in Bonn from 1979 to 1985 in Bonn Radbruch received his medical license. From 1985 to 1985 he worked as an assistant doctor in Gerolstein and received his doctorate in medicine in Bonn in 1986. From 1987 to 2003 he worked as a research assistant at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Anaesthesiology at the University Hospital Cologne . In 1992 he qualified as a specialist in anesthesiology and from 1994 to 2003 took over the management of the pain clinic of the clinic and polyclinic for anesthesiology at the University Hospital Cologne. In 2000, he completed his habilitation in anesthesiology and palliative medicine at the University of Cologne.
In 2003, Radbruch received a professorship for palliative medicine from the Grünenthal Foundation for Palliative Medicine at the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen and became the first director of the clinic for palliative medicine at the University Hospital Aachen, which was newly created by the foundation . In 2010 he moved to the Medical Faculty of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University of Bonn as Professor of Palliative Medicine and, as the successor to Eberhard Klaschik, became Director of the Clinic for Palliative Medicine at the University Hospital Bonn and Head of the Center for Palliative Medicine at the Malteser Hospital Bonn / Rhein- Appointed victory.
In 2019, Lukas Radbruch was accepted as a member of the National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina in the surgery, orthopedics and anesthesiology section .
