Lukas Schubert (born June 25, 1989 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian football player on the position of midfielder .

Career

Lukas Schubert began his career in the offspring of the 1. SSK in 1919 and came to SV Austria Salzburg after two rather short guest appearances at ASV Taxham and ASK Salzburg in 2002 . With the Salzburg team, he mostly played in the BNZ teams and stayed with the club even after taking over Red Bull . In January 2008 Heimo Pfeifenberger brought him to SV Grödig, with whom he also made it to the first division . On July 11, 2008 he made his second division debut in the home game against SC Austria Lustenau and was able to convince in the right midfield as well as after the exclusion of Milan Rasinger in the back four of the Grödiger . At the end of the season he had to accept relegation to the third division again together with the team, but this was forgotten with the immediate reassignment in 2010 . In the 2010/11 season he was able to achieve his first first division goal on the 18th matchday in the game against TSV Hartberg . In 2012/13 he became champions of the first league with the Grödigern and rose to the Bundesliga with them. After five missions in the fall season, he could not play any more games. The reason was an inflammation of the heart muscle , which initially made any further competitive sporting activity impossible. After a 21-month football break, Schubert returned to football in July 2015, completing half-time in a game between the Grödig Amateurs and UVB Vöcklamarkt . After returning to the professional squad during the 2015/16 winter break, he signed a contract with Derry City in Northern Ireland in May 2016 .
