Lukavac is a local community in the municipality of Nevesinje with around 450 inhabitants. Lukavac is about 25 km away from the city of the same name in eastern Herzegovina , in the Republika Srpska . It is surrounded by a mountainous landscape and is 883 m above sea level.

The Mjesna Zajednica Lukavac consists of the four villages Gornji Lukavac, Donji Lukavac, Jugovići and Rogače. The aim of the alliance is to strengthen its position vis-à-vis the Opština, especially with regard to economic issues. The mayor and chairman of the council is currently Žarko Grahovac. The council consists of six other members and deals with projects that are in the area of Mjesna Zajednica. This includes the expansion of the unpaved road from Lukavac to Divin as well as the repair of the paved road from Zovi Do to Lukavac.

Attractions
The Serbian Orthodox Church of the Holy Apostles Petar and Pavle is in Lukavac . When construction began, the foundation was blessed on July 17, 1903 . The church was built in 1903 and 1904 and on September 5, 1904 , Metropolitan Petar Zimonjić consecrated it . The service takes place only on the first Sunday during the Great Lent before Easter, on Easter Tuesday, on Pentecost Tuesday and on the day of the patron saints of the Church of the Apostles Petar and Pavle on June 12th. As usual in the Serbian Orthodox Church, all holidays are celebrated according to the Julian calendar .
