The noble estate Lundsgaard (formerly Grünhof and Grumtoft ) is located in Grundhof in Nordangeln Kreis Schleswig-Flensburg in Schleswig-Holstein .

In the 15th century, the knight Erik Nielssen lived here on a castle with a moat that gave a wide view and protection as far as the Baltic Sea . But his liege lord , the Duke of Schleswig Adolph I , withdrew the fief from him and gave it to his squire Jürgen Lund (before 1448). The early castle belonged to the chain of Herrnmannsburgen , i.e. castles or more precisely moths of Schleswig nobles (who were the lord's servants, i.e. dukes ), which were supposed to protect against attacks from the Wenden from the sea.

In the 16th century the estate came into the possession of Wolf Claussen von der Wisch, who also owned the Voldewraa and Roest estates. From 1540–1578 it belonged to his sons Matthias and Moritz von der Wisch.

Then the strong aristocratic family of the Rantzau took over the rule. They owned 71 castles and estates. In 1564 it was Andreas Rantzau who demolished the tower castle and built the new manor house . A copper engraving and an oil painting (1586) have survived. But it fell victim to a fire in 1730. Son Hans Rantzau was apparently in financial troubles in 1600, so that a certain Segebrand von Mahrenholz emerged as the owner. In 1606 he donated the pulpit to the church in Grundhof .

Now Lundsgaard changed hands almost continuously. Only in 1722 did it come back into the hands of the von Wisch family. The estate was divided into 80 parcels and the two Meierhöfe Grüneberg and Voldewraa separated and sold. At that time there were 1301 Heitscheffel (about 390 ha).

In 1908 the estate passed to Asmus Petersen, whose family still owns it today. The estate is again 350 hectares. A global seed breeding company is managed from here .

The two-storey mansion (1779, Christian vd Wisch) with an economical central projection has a beautiful entrance hall and a ballroom on the upper floor. A medieval cellar with groined vaults has been preserved. In the park you can still see the castle hill and parts of the moat.
