About this picture

Hüsby ((pronounced: Hüsbü) Danish : Husby, not to be confused with the municipality Husby located in the same district ) is a municipality in the Schleswig-Flensburg district in Schleswig-Holstein . Hüsbybrücke, Hüsbyfeld and Hüsbygaard are in the municipality.

The community is located on the Schleswig-Holstein Middle Ridge on a historic trade route, the Ochsenweg .

As part of the village renewal , among other things, the area around the village pond was very nicely designed and the community took first place in the district competition in 1999. Our village should become more beautiful - citizens create their environment first.

Geography and traffic

The community of Hüsby is located directly west of Schleswig . The federal highway 201 runs north to Husum , east the A7 to Rendsburg .

history

In 1996 the village of Hüsby celebrated its 800th anniversary. The basis for this is a document from King Knud of Denmark from 1196 , in which the place is mentioned for the first time.

politics

Community representation

Since the municipal elections in 2013, the AKWH electoral community has all eleven seats in the municipal council.

coat of arms

Blazon : "Divided by silver and green obliquely to the left, an ancient oak in mixed up colors above, a stone grave below with an open front and closed back."

The municipality of Hüsby has had its own coat of arms since 1995. The references to the coat of arms are derived from the barrows in the community and the bridal oak on the way to Schleswig. Since 1999, the municipality has also had a municipality flag, which shows the figures of the municipality's coat of arms on a slanting to the right, white flag cloth above and green below.

economy

The place, which was formerly very much characterized by agriculture, has mainly been given a residential function in recent years. There are currently five farms in the Hüsby locality. Despite the development of two building areas with around 40 residential units, the municipality of Hüsby has largely retained its village character.
