Lutz Brockhaus

Lutz Brockhaus (born September 14, 1945 in Berlin ; † September 1, 2016 in Darmstadt ) was a German sculptor and university professor at the FH Aachen .

Life

Brockhaus grew up in Berlin. After finishing school he studied from 1966 at the State University of Fine Arts in Berlin with Ludwig Gabriel Schrieber and became a master class student in 1971 . From 1972 he was assistant to Waldemar Grzimek at the Technical University of Darmstadt ; there he received a teaching position in 1974 and became a lecturer in 1977. In 1981 he was appointed professor for plastics at the FH Aachen . He held this professorship until 2000.

He lived and worked in Darmstadt and Sardinia in recent years . His wife Sabine is the daughter of the Düsseldorf painter Oswald Petersen .

Brockhaus was a member of the German Association of Artists and a long-term member of the board of the Darmstadt Secession .

Lutz Brockhaus was buried in the old cemetery in Darmstadt (grave site: I Mauer 165).
