Lutz Heuer

Lutz Heuer (* 1943 in Berlin ) is a German historian and publicist .

Life

Lutz Heuer grew up as the eldest son of a master painter in the post-war period at the Nordbahnhof in the Berlin-Mitte district . Here he learned the profession of land surveyor at the Deutsche Reichsbahn and practiced this profession at the surveying office of the Reichsbahn and later at VEB Tiefbau Berlin. Then he worked in various activities and functions in the Berlin construction industry.

From 1970 to 1974, Heuer studied history at the Humboldt University in Berlin . After graduating as a historian, he worked in the field of education. He worked for ten years as a part-time teacher at the company academy of the VEB Housing Combine in Berlin, training skilled workers and engineers. Other areas in which he was involved were research into the regional history of Berlin, the Luisenstadt Educational Association, the Institute for Conflict and Peace Research and the Berlin Cultural Ring. Lutz Heuer has been a freelance historian and journalist since 2003.

Lutz Heuer participated with his own contributions in publications of the Heimatverein Berlin-Marzahn-Hellersdorf. In addition, he published in newspapers and magazines on the history of Berlin and the history of the Soviet occupation zone and the GDR . He is also active as a speaker on various historical topics at various registered associations.
