Lutz Hoffmann (born January 13, 1983 in Dresden ) is a former German volleyball player and budding politician .

Athletic career as a player

At the age of three, Hoffmann began gymnastics at the USV TU Dresden in 1986 , before switching to football just one year later . At the age of twelve he broke with the sport of soccer. He then switched to volleyball . His parents already practiced this sport. He stayed at USV TU Dresden until 2003 before moving to VC Dresden . After only one year he moved to Königsteiner VG and played there until the 2009/10 season. He was also responsible for the team there. In 2010 he moved back to his homeland and played again for VC Dresden in the second Bundesliga south in 2010/11 . In 2012 Hoffmann returned to his roots and played again for the USV TU Dresden in the Regionalliga Ost until his ligament tore several times. In the summer of 2013 he ended his active career in competitive sports. Since 2014 he has been playing in the state class (leisure time) at VC Dresden.

Athletic career as a trainer

In the 2013/14 season Hoffmann was Niklas Peisl's assistant coach at the CPSV Volleys Chemnitz in the 2nd Bundesliga .

Professional background

From 2005 to 2010 Lutz Hoffmann was an independent entrepreneur in the field of marketing and sales manager at ITC Dresden. Before he switched to three advertising agencies for the client Philip Morris for two years.

After Hoffmann successfully completed his business administration (HWK) in the spring of 2013, since October 2013 he has been studying at the BA Riesa in business administration service management (sport, event & marketing).

politics

In 2014 Lutz Hoffmann ran for the city ​​council of the state capital Dresden . He stood for the CDU Dresden, but missed the entry into the city council. Was nominated in September 2015 by the CDU local association Altstadt (Dresden) and was then elected in the city council for the local advisory council (since 2018: city district council) Altstadt. He has been a member of this since October 2014 and thus supports a political honorary office.
