Lutz Michalski

Lutz Michalski (* August 5, 1950 - May 23, 2013 ) was a German legal scholar specializing in commercial and corporate law.

Life

Lutz Michalski studied law with a minor in business administration at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster from 1969 to 1974 . In 1978 he also received his doctorate in Münster under Harry Westermann on the subject of "Corporate law structuring options for perpetuating companies" . 1987 followed the habilitation at the University of Bielefeld with Harm Peter Westermann , the son of his doctoral supervisor Harry Westermann. The topic was "The corporate and antitrust law of the professionally bound liberal professions" . In the same year he was appointed to the University of Bayreuth . In 1993 Michalski was offered a professorship at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen , but decided to stay in Bayreuth.

Michalski is the author of numerous works on corporate law, in particular on the GmbH Act , the Partnership Act . He was one of the founders and the first editor-in-chief of the Neue Zeitschrift für Unternehmensrecht (NZG). Michalski also wrote a textbook on inheritance law and commented on property law and family law provisions of the BGB in the comment justified by Walter Erman .
