Lutz Schüler (born March 15, 1968 in Düsseldorf ) is a German manager . From 2011 to 2018 he was CEO of Unitymedia . Since August 2018 he has been Chief Operation Officer (COO) of Virgin Media in the UK.

Life

Lutz Schüler completed a degree in business administration at the University of Augsburg , which he completed with a Master of Science . He then worked as a product manager at T-Mobile and later switched to HanseNet . After working as managing director for the Marketing & Sales division , at the end of 2009 he took on responsibility for the integration of the company into the Telefónica Group, after Telefónica Germany had taken over HanseNet.

From January 2011 to August 2018, Schüler worked for Unitymedia. His role there was shaped by the acquisition of Kabel BW by Liberty Global and the subsequent merger of the two companies. Schüler succeeded in allaying the Bundeskartellamt's concerns about the merger, which attracted great recognition in the professional world. Among other things, Manager Magazin then called him “Germany's new cable regent”.

Lutz Schüler has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Virgin Media since April 2019.

Lutz Schüler is married and has three children. Among other things, he is a member of the Atlantik-Brücke .
