Lutz Stoklasa

Lutz Stoklasa (born December 23, 1949 in Langewiesen ) is a German swimmer who started for Wacker Burghausen in the late 1960s . He is 1.88 m tall and weighed 80 kg when he was active.

Stoklasa is now a general practitioner with a practice in Wyk auf Föhr .

Olympic participation

Stoklasa took part in the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968 and in Munich in 1972 .

  • 100 m dolphin: In 1968 Stoklasa came 7th in 58.9 seconds (gold went to American Douglas Russell , who swam the Olympic record in 55.9 seconds). In 1972 he was significantly faster than in Mexico with 58.33 seconds, but was not able to qualify for the final as 7th of his semifinal.
  • 200 m dolphin: With 2: 16.4 minutes, Stoklasa was eliminated in 1968 in the lead. In 1972 he gave up this route.
  • Both in 1968 and 1972 Stoklasa was a member of the 4 × 100 m layer relay (cast in 1968: Reinhard Blechert , Gregor Betz , Lutz Stoklasa and Wolfgang Kremer , cast in 1972: Andreas Weber , Walter Kusch , Lutz Stoklasa and Klaus Steinbach ). In 1968 4: 05.4 minutes was enough for 6th place (gold went to the USA in the world record time of 3: 54.9 minutes), in 1972 the much better time of 4: 00.56 minutes meant the end in the lead-up.

Stoklasa swam two European records over 100 m dolphin.

  • On August 18, 1968, he set the European record of Alexander Gordejew ( Soviet Union ) in 58.4 seconds .
  • On August 29, 1968, he swam 58.0 seconds at the German Championships in Bonn, making him the sole European record holder.
