Lycium leiospermum is a plant type from the genus of Lycium ( Lycium ) in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).
description
Lycium leiospermum is a 0.3 to 1.5 m high, upright, rigid shrub . Its leaves are frosted, succulent and hairless. Their length is 5 to 13 mm, their width 0.5 to 2 mm.
The flowers are hermaphroditic and five-fold. The calyx is cylindrical to cup-shaped and hairless. The calyx tube is 5 to 8 mm long, the calyx lobes 3 to 4 mm. The crown is colored white, divided into three lips and keeled on the calyx. The corolla tube reaches a length of 10 to 13 mm, the corolla lobes are 3 to 3.5 mm long. The stamens are hairy tomentose in an area of about 1 mm.
The fruit is a red, egg-shaped berry with a length of 7 to 9 mm and a width of 5 to 8 mm. It contains a multitude of seeds .
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 24.
Occurrence
The species is widespread in North America and occurs there in the Mexican states of Baja California , Coahuila and San Luis Potosí .
