Lydia Neunhäuserer

Lydia Neunhäuserer (born August 23, 1973 ) is an Austrian poet and writer who writes her literary works mainly in dialect .

Life

Lydia Neunhäuserer grew up in Zell an der Pram and attended high school in Schärding . As a teenager she took part in writing workshops . After graduating from high school , she completed a voluntary social year in care for the elderly in Innsbruck and then attended the Academy for Physiotherapy, where she graduated with a diploma. She currently works in the hospital in Schärding.

After further training, she works as a freelance meditation leader and pilgrim companion . It also offers biofair breakfasts, laughter yoga and breathing training as well as readings and Kaba readings.

She writes poetry in Upper Austrian dialect and written language, but also works on fairy tales and prose . Neunhäuserer publishes her work in church magazines and in anthologies , among other places ; first own books with her dialect poems were published in 2007 by the Ranshofen publishing house Edition Innsalz and in 2009 by the Freya publishing house in Linz . She is a member of the group “neue mundart” in the literary association Stelzhamerbund . Neunhäuserer is one of the well-known representatives of contemporary Upper Austrian dialect poetry and prose ("New Dialect"); Among other things, she holds dialect readings in educational institutions, cultural centers and parishes and has successfully participated in literary and poetry competitions several times. In 2009 she was awarded the AKUT literary poetry / prose / fairy tale prize as the winner in the “Fairy Tales” category, which is awarded annually by the municipality of Alberndorf in Riedmark together with the Linz cultural association, Friends of Contemporary Poetry, for Upper Austria .

Lydia Neunhäuserer is married and the couple has three children. The family lives in Zell an der Pram.
