Lynn Leong , also known as Leong Siu Lynn , (born January 24, 1981 in Terengganu ) is a former Malaysian squash player .

Career

Leong played on the WSA World Tour from 1996 to 1999 . She reached her highest position in the world rankings with rank 42 in September 1997. Shortly before her 15th birthday, she won the Asian Championship with a final victory over Misha Grewal . She was also the Malaysian national champion in 1995 and 1996. In 1998 she competed for Malaysia at the Commonwealth Games . In singles she reached the second round, in doubles with Nicol David the quarter-finals. A year later Leong and David faced each other in the final of the World Junior Championship, which David won.

In 1999, at the age of 18, Leong moved to the United States and attended St George's School , a high school in Middletown , Rhode Island . She then studied studio arts and photography at Trinity College , from which she graduated in 2005 with a bachelor's degree. From 2001 to 2005 she was also active for Trinity in college squash. After graduating, she began to work as a squash coach and took a coaching position in Rye , New York , and then in New Haven , Connecticut . Leong is married and has one daughter.
