Lysohub (noble family)
Lysohub ( Ukrainian Лизогуб , Russian Лизогуб Lisogub ) was the name of a line of Ukrainian Cossack leaders and later nobility in the Russian Empire from the 17th to the 20th centuries.
The family has been known since the time of Bohdan Khmelnitsky . The founders of the family came from the village of Helmyaziv in the Zolotonosha district of the Cherkassy Oblast in Ukraine . Representatives of the sex owned significant land in the Russian governorates of Poltava and Chernigov .
