The Mühlbach is a 14 km long brook derived from the Moosach , which flows through Moosburg an der Isar and flows north of the city from the right into the Amper .

geography

course

The Mühlbach is derived from the Moosach to the left southwest of the church village of Oberhummel in the municipality of Langenbach, a few hundred meters before its confluence with the Isar . The stream crosses Oberhummel and flows back along the southern outskirts of Niederhummel into the wooded Isar floodplains. Shortly before the Mühlbach leaves the alluvial forest south of Moosburg, a small stream branches off at the Alte Mühlbachschleuse , which flows into the Isar. The weir also served to drain excess water. The protection of the city is now provided by a weir in the relocated flood dike of the Isar, which is crossed by the Mühlbach at the edge of the forest of the Isar floodplain. On the southern outskirts of Moosburg, the stream crosses the Amper overpass canal on a bridge . This was created to make water from the Amper usable for the Uppenborn works northeast of Moosburg. After crossing the Bonau district , the Mühlbach flows east past the old town. There the Schleiferbach branches off, which flows into the Isar north of the city. The Mühlbach flows further north through the Neustadt district and flows into the Amper from the right a hundred meters below the river bridge of the Munich – Regensburg railway line .

The Mühlbach flows after a 13.6 km long run with an average bottom gradient of only about 1.5 ‰ about 21 meters in altitude below its junction from the Moosach.

Catchment area

The catchment area of the Mühlbach is 12.5 km². In the southeast it borders on the Isar , which is almost always very close , in the northwest on that of the initially much more distant Amper , which from the watershed first runs into the Langenbach , then some smaller floodplains such as the Wehrbach , while in the urban area of Moosburg then the Amper becomes the nearest neighbor on this side.
