The Mühlebach (also Mühlibach ) is a largely canalised creek in the municipality of Glarus Nord in the Swiss canton of Glarus .

geography

course

The Mühlebach rises from the so-called Mettlenseeli , a small lake in the Mettlen in the municipality of Glarus (formerly the municipality of Netstal ). This lake in the southeast of the Linth Plain is fed by mountain streams and groundwater . Not far from there, the Erlenkanal, an artificial body of water, connects the Mühlebach with the Linth . This runs partially parallel to main road 17 , crosses the village of Näfels and forms a meander there . He crossed the water filled in Rautifeld tank ditch the dam site Näfels and ends shortly thereafter in the Rauti .

Tributaries

  • Forenbach ( Brandbach, Aktigerruus ) (upper course)
  • Scheidruus flows into the Mettlensee
  • Alder Canal ( right )
  • Tränggi ( Mulibach ) ( left )
  • Dorfkanal ( left branch with return )

fauna

Trout and grayling live in the Mühlebach . These were settled in the interests of fishing and are increasing.
