Münchenlohra is a district of Großlohra in the Nordhausen district in Thuringia .
geography
Münchenlohra is located on the northern roof of the western Hainleite , a little south of the Wipperniederung in a rural area. The main source of the Nohraer Mühlgraben rises north of the village . In the valley of the Wipper, the federal motorway 38 and the road from Nordhausen to Kassel , formerly the B80, pass. The Halle – Hann. Münden joins the valley a little further west.
history
The place Münchenlohra was first mentioned in a document in 1240. Münchenlohra was created as an estate around the former monastery buildings and monastery church .
