Münster-Mitte
Münster-Mitte is the central and largest urban district of the independent city of Münster in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Federal Republic of Germany ). It covers the core area of the city. The population ( eligible population ) is 126,657 (as of December 31, 2017). The total area of 23.95 km² is divided into four sub-areas. These are:

That is why the numbering of the city districts continues with Münster-West (city district 5). This is followed by the municipality of Münster-Nord (6), Münster-Ost (7), Münster-Südost (8) and the southern district of Münster-Hiltrup (9). All of these districts are subdivided into districts, the two-digit code of which indicates the district or sub-area as the first digit.

The core area of the city is also often divided into historical districts . The neighborhoods include a .: Aaseestadt , Erphoviertel , Geistviertel , Hansaviertel , Herz-Jesu-Viertel , Kreuzviertel , Kuhviertel , Mauritzviertel , Pluggendorf , Rumphorst , Südviertel , Uppenberg and the newly designed Zentrum Nord .
The official districts of the urban planning of Münster deviate from the historically grown quarters, especially in the Mitte district:
- Old town: Aegidii, Überwasser, Dom, Buddenturm, Martini
- Inner city ring : Pluggendorf, Josef, Bahnhof, Hansaplatz, Mauritz-West, Schlachthof, Kreuz, Neutor, Schloss
- Middle-South: Aaseestadt, Geist, Schützenhof, Düesberg
- Middle-Northeast: Hafen, Herz-Jesu, Mauritz-Mitte, Rumphorst, Uppenberg
