The Erphoviertel is a district or, in official usage, a residential area of the Westphalian city of Münster . It is located east of the historic city center in the Mitte district and extends from Fürstenbergstrasse in the west to Schifffahrter Damm in the east. In the north it is largely bounded by Goldstrasse , Niedersachsenring and Ostmarkstrasse ; in the south, Warendorfer Strasse forms the end of the district. The Erphoviertel is divided into two by the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Ringcutting it in a north-south direction.

The quarter is named after the Münster bishop Erpho and the Erphokirche in the eastern part. Many streets also bear the names of other earlier bishops, including Burchard von Holte and Dodo .

What is striking about the Erphoviertel is the residential development, which is loosely for an inner city quarter and can be traced back to villas such as the Villa Sunder-Plaßmann or to mansion- style buildings. The best-known representative is the Villa ten Hompel , a former factory owner's villa, the seat of the regulatory police during the Nazi era and a museum and memorial since 1999.

The Münster department of the Catholic University of Applied Sciences North Rhine-Westphalia is also located in the Erphoviertel . Several large agencies and organizations were and are also represented in the Erphoviertel: the Dental Association of Westphalia-Lippe with the dentists' association Westfalen-Lippe, the Chamber of Tax Consultants North Rhine-Westphalia and the now in the center of Northern -based Medical Association Westphalia-Lippe . In addition, the main buildings of the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe are located on Warendorfer Strasse , Fürstenbergstrasse and Hörsterplatz, also in the Erphoviertel. The state archive of North Rhine-Westphalia on Bohlweg also belongs to this administrative district .

The former Franciscan monastery on Bohlweg , which had to give way to one of the first construction projects in the manner of a so-called gated community in the city of Münster, has now been torn down . The background to the demolition was the lack of new members of the friars. The Franciscan University located in the monastery has moved to the St. Franziskus Hospital on Hohenzollernring.
