Sentrup or according to the main statute Sentruper Höhe is a residential area ( district ) of Münster in Westphalia ( Federal Republic of Germany ). It is located between the city center and southeast of Gievenbeck in the west of Münster. Sentrup is assigned to the city district West . As of December 31, 2017, the official population was 7,676 in an area of around 6.6 km². Due to the relatively central location and the proximity to various local recreation areas, the Sentruper Höhe is one of Münster's most sought-after and most expensive residential areas.

The core of Sentrup is mainly divided into three parts: In the north of Sentrup is the University Hospital of Münster, followed by residential areas in the center with the St. Theresien Church from 1956, in the south there is the area around the all-weather zoo , among other things with the Sentruper Höhe sports park , the Westphalian horse museum , the Mühlenhof open-air museum in Münster and the LWL museum for natural history . In addition, there is a northern part, which the people of Münster do not actually belong to Sentrup and which extends to the ice rink on Steinfurter Strasse. This section mainly contains facilities from the university (natural science center, sports grounds, Leonardo campus ) and the Münster University of Applied Sciences . The Catholic Academy Franz-Wärme-Haus is still located in the southeast .

The west-east axis of the district is named after Wilhelm von Waldeyer , the north-south axis after Adolf Schmedding .
