The Center North is a downtown quarter of the Westphalian city of Münster and also an important administrative center. It belongs to the Mitte district and is located north of the city center between Kinderhaus , Coerde , Rumphorst and the Kreuzviertel .

A special feature of this district is that it is almost exclusively an administrative location and less a residential area. The plans for the North Center go back to the 1960s. It was intended to relieve the inner city of major administrations and companies that have since settled there. Since 1995 there has been a train stop on the Rheine - Münster or Enschede - Münster railway line, which runs directly past the center north .

Münster Zentrum Nord train station

Due to its importance as a workplace and commercial location, Münster Zentrum Nord has had a passenger station since 1995, where regional trains to Enschede, Rheine, Münster Hauptbahnhof and Coesfeld stop. This is from the former pure depot emerged Nevinghoff where the Münster-Enschede railway from the Münster-Rheine railway branches. In fact, this has been the starting point of the line since the Second World War, as the track to the main station was no longer built in order to save costs when building the numerous overpasses in the city area. In addition, the Marienthal industrial trunk line, which, among other things, connected the Germania brewery , branched off here . However, this has long since been dismantled; as the last relic, the connection switch was removed as part of renovations in spring 2017.

Originally the station had four tracks. Track 1 was the main track from and to Enschede, track 2 was a shunting track, track 3 was the main track from Rheine to Münster and track 4 was the main track from Münster to Rheine. Only platforms 1 and 4 had platforms, namely outer platforms. Trains from Rheine with a stop in Münster Zentrum Nord therefore switched from platform 3 to 1 at the beginning of the station of the previous track 1 is and now bears its number. Track 1 became track 2, the platform thus becoming an island platform, which can be reached at one end through an underpass and at the other end at ground level via track 1; this means that both platforms can still be reached without barriers. Track 4 was given number 3, but the two tracks without a platform still exist, and the occupancy is the same. The additional track enables trains on the Münster-Gronau connection to cross, so that from now on, a continuous half-hourly service is possible on this connection.

Long-distance traffic and regional express lines pass through the station without stopping. The following three regional train lines stop (the RB 63 line ends and starts here):
