Mănărade (German: Donner market , Hungarian: Monora , Monorád ) is a village of the Romanian community Blaj in Alba county . The German name Donnersmarkt is derived from the former market law.
geography
Mănărade is located in Transylvania on the Târnava Mare river . The national road 14B and the Teiuș – Brașov railway line pass north of the village. Mineral treasure is the salt of a primordial sea, which penetrates to the surface through brine springs. The highest point of the place is the castle hill with 486 m above sea level. NN .
history
In 1205 Mănărade is mentioned as possessio Monera . In 1263 King Stephan V transferred the village to the village of Jule. In 1320 it is mentioned as belonging to the Igriș Monastery . In 1336 it was raised to a market town. In 1500 the Igris monastery was dissolved and the village became part of the Tschander diocese . Romanians are mentioned for the first time as residents in 1713.
In the Josephine land registry in Transylvania between 1769 and 1773 (section 172), the village appeared as a monora . In 1772 Maria Theresa pledged the place with 82 others to Count Teleki. In 1817 Donnersmarkt lost its market rights. The new church was built between 1863 and 1869 and the town hall in 1912. Because of the emigration from 1980 to 1995, fewer than twelve Transylvanian Saxons remained in Donnersmarkt and the Protestant parish was dissolved. The church was given to the Romanian Greek Catholic Church for use .
