Mīm ,ميم, is the 24th letter of the Arabic alphabet . It emerged from the Phoenician Mem and is thus related to the Latin M , the Greek My and the Hebrew Mem . The numerical value 40 is assigned to it.

Sound value and transcription

The Mim corresponds to the German M in "Martha". It is therefore reproduced with an "m" in the DMG inscription.
