Mūrmuiža (German: brick courtyard ) is a village in northern Latvia and the center of the Kauguri municipality and the Beverīna administrative district (Latvian: Beverīnas novads ).
history
The place was formed around Gut Gemauerthof . Part of the area belonged to Valmiera . There is a Zenta Mauriņa museum in the manor house .
After the administrative reform in 2009 , the three municipalities of Trikāta, Brenguļi and Kauguri merged to form Beverīnas novads .

Trivia
On July 16, 1705, the Battle of Gemauerthof took place at a place of the same name in Semgallen , a battle of the Great Northern War between the armies of the Swedish King Charles XII. and the army of the Tsar of Russia Peter the Great .
