The Bhe 4/8 are two-part, close-coupled electric cogwheels - double multiple units of the Monte Generoso Railway (MG) and the Transports Montreux – Vevey – Riviera (MVR).

The four existing railcars of the Monte Generoso Railway were purchased on the occasion of the electrification of the railway in 1982. They were manufactured by the Swiss Locomotive and Machine Works (SLM) in Winterthur . The electrical equipment was supplied by Siemens ( Erlangen plant ). The railcars are the only electric vehicles on the Monte Generoso Railway.

In 1983, three largely identical railcars were delivered to the Chemin de fer Glion-Rochers-de-Naye (GN) (today Transports Montreux-Vevey-Riviera ). They only differ in the details of the electrical and mechanical parts, since the contact line voltage and the coupling system are different. A railcar was delivered in 1992, another was built in 2010 in the workshops of the Montreux-Berner Oberland-Bahn (MOB) in Chernex and put into operation in 2011.
