The MG ZS is introduced after the 2015 MG GS , the second SUV of Chinese car brand MG . It is built at SAIC .

history

The vehicle was presented at the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2016 . It has been on sale in China since March 2017 . The SUV has also been available in the United Kingdom since November 2017 . The car had its European premiere in May 2017 at the London Motor Show . To avoid confusion with the MG ZS offered between 2001 and 2005 , the five-seater was originally intended to be marketed in Great Britain as the MG XS. However, these plans were discarded in autumn 2017.

At the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2018, the MG eZS, the brand's first electric car, was presented. It has been on sale in China since March 2019. In January 2020, the battery-electric version made its debut at the Vienna Autoshow . It has since been sold in Austria at prices starting at 31,790 euros. It should also go on sale in Germany from October 2020.

Technical specifications

In China, a 1.0-liter gasoline engine with 92 kW (125 hp) and a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 88 kW (120 hp) are available as drive variants . Both engines are also available in the United Kingdom, but with 82 kW (111 hp) and 78 kW (106 hp) they are slightly less powerful.

The eZS is powered by a 110 kW (150 PS) electric motor. MG specifies the electric range as 335 km according to the NEDC driving cycle.
